Hibino lost to L. Sigemund (Germany), the 1st seed in the preliminary round, 1-6, 4-6, and Sato lost to A. Bogdan (Romania), the 6th seed in the preliminary round, in straight sets 3-6, 3-6. He was defeated in the preliminary round.
