The logic was respected. Authoritarian Paris Saint-Germain clearly won in Créteil on Sunday, for the 6th day of Liqui Moly Starligue (45-31). This sixth success in as many matches this season allows the capital club to continue its flawless performance and sit alone in the lead, after Toulouse’s defeat at Cesson-Rennes (27-28) on Saturday.
In the lead throughout the match, the Parisians played without trembling and were buoyed by the success of their star Elohim Prandi (8 goals, 73%). On the other side of the field, their goalkeeper Jannick Green ran the shop (17 saves, 35%) and allowed PSG to maintain a significant gap to set PSG’s points record this season and equal the largest gap this year (14 points, as against Ivry).
With this logical success in the derby, Raul Gonzalez’s players continue their rise in power, after a start to the season marked by a severe defeat against the Hungarians of Veszprem in the Champions League (41-28). The C1 will, in fact, be on the program from Thursday with the reception of Dinamo Bucharest. The Parisians will continue their frantic pace between championship at the weekend and European games on Wednesdays or Thursdays for another three weeks and did rather well, this Sunday, to ensure their success early in the game.
Créteil relegated
For its part, Créteil remains stuck at the bottom of the table. 12th before this 6th day, the players from Val-de-Marne are now 15th and therefore relegated, since Chambéry, Tremblay and Cesson-Rennes won this weekend. On Sunday, the fourth defense of the championship before the match held a half with an average gap of less than eight points but plunged in the second act. With a trip to Dunkirk then the reception in Nantes to come, the menu promises to be copious in the coming weeks.
