With the participation of nearly one hundred teams, the season was inaugurated this Sunday autumn-winter of the Villahermosa Children’s and Youth Baseball Leaguewhich on this occasion is named after the sports writer Pedro Varela.
The municipal president attended the inaugural event, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, who was in charge of the first pitch.
In this season they participate 95 teams both in the men’s and women’s branches and in their different categories, commented Manuel Esquivel, president of the Liga.

During the inauguration, the mayor congratulated the parents and those who promote this sport, since it allows us to train disciplined, committed and hard-working people.
Perez Cuellar ratified its commitment to continue supporting local sports, since it is a fundamental element of the development of children and youth.
“In this new administration we will continue to support sports, we are not going to let our guard down, we are not going to rest to continue betting on this fundamental element of the development of children and youth,” he indicated.
Manuel Esquivel, president of the Villahermosa Leaguethanked the mayor for his help and recognized the effort he makes in supporting the different disciplines in which children participate.
Among the special guests was baseball player Pablo Cortez, from the Sultanes de Monterrey team and from the Mexican Baseball League, who was trained in the Villahermosa League.
