At SV Werder Bremen the hospital is thinning out. After the international break, Ole Werner could again rely on some players who were recently forced to take a step back. At the start of the training week, however, he will still have to do without Miloš Veljković, Niklas Stark, Justin Njinmah and Keke Topp.
Topp is missing after wisdom tooth surgery. “We expect him to return before the Wolfsburg game, but we can’t yet say exactly when that will be,” says Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football DeichStube quoted. The game at VfL doesn’t take place until next Sunday (October 20th).
Veljković, Stark and Njinmah, on the other hand, “are still in advanced training. We will see from day to day whether it will be enough for one of the three for Sunday,” explained Niemeyer. Veljković (ankle injury) and Njinmah (ankle ligament injury) have both been out for over four weeks. They are probably squad options at best if they get fit in time. Stark (hamstring problems), on the other hand, could move into the starting line-up for Julián Malatini.
