England shows reaction – Austria outclasses Haaland-Elf

In the 3-1 win in Finland, the English national football team rehabilitated itself for the defeat against Greece. Rangnick’s Austrians don’t give Norway a chance around captain Haaland.
Thanks also to a dream goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold, the English national football team avoided another embarrassment in the second-tier B league of the Nations League. A few days after the 1:2 home defeat against Greece, the team led by the recovered Bayern striker Harry Kane deservedly won 3:1 (1:0) against Finland. Superstar Erling Haaland, on the other hand, suffered a 5-1 debacle with Norway against Ralf Rangnick’s Austrians.
In the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold made it 2-0 (74th minute) for England with a direct free kick from around 22 meters. Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky flew in vain. The other goals came from Manchester City’s Jack Grealish (18th) and Arsenal’s Declan Rice (84th). Arttu Hoskonen (87th) scored the consolation goal.
Greece stays ahead of England
For the Finns it was their fourth defeat in their fourth game, while the English now have nine points. The victory was particularly important for Lee Carsley, as the Three Lions’ interim coach came under heavy criticism after the Greece game. According to reports, the English association is already negotiating with former Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel.
Greece took advantage of the euphoria after the 2-1 coup at Wembley with a 2-0 (0-0) win against Ireland and remains first in the England group with four wins from four games. Tasos Bakasetas (48th) and Petros Mantalos (90th + 1) scored for the 2004 European champions.
Austria dupes Haaland & Co.
The Austrians surprisingly beat Norway in the B league and are the new leaders in Group 3 after the 5:1 (1:1). Former Bremen Bundesliga professional Marko Arnautovic scored twice for the German coach’s team (8th, 49’/foul penalty), Freiburg’s Philipp Lienhart (58′) and Michael Gregoritsch (71′) were also successful. Stefan Posch also scored (62′).
Ex-Leipziger Alexander Sørloth (39th) scored the interim equalizer for the completely disappointing Norwegians. Captain Haaland had no effect apart from a shot off the post in the early stages.
