MICHALOVCE – The hockey players of HK Nitra won Sunday’s match of the 10th round of the Tipos extraliga on the ice of HK Dukla Ingem Michalovce 2:1.
The reigning champions scored full points after a series of three losses, the Michalovans did not get a single point for the first time after five wins in a row.
Striker Filip Bajtek opened the scoring in the fifth minute. In the middle part of the game, no goal was scored and Sahir Gill scored an important accurate shot at the beginning of the third period. “Corgoni” complicated the end of the meeting in the 47th minute, when visiting defender Samuel Hain saw a penalty until the end of the match for slashing. The home team managed only a contact goal from the stick of Adam Drgoň in the five-minute period, but they did not reach the points.

Nové Zámky lost for the sixth time in a row
The hockey players of Nový Zámkov recorded their sixth loss in a row in the 10th round of the Tipos extraliga. On home ice, they were not enough against Košice, they easily lost 0:6.
Košice already scored three goals in the first period, and after the third Petráš was replaced by Roman Rychlík in the home goal by Jason Grande. In the “steel” jersey, Danick Martel scored three points for assists, Brett Pollock scored twice.

Banská Bystrica with a comfortable victory
The hockey players of Banská Bystrica beat Liptovský Mikuláš 5:2 in the 10th round of the Tipos extraliga on their ice. Thus, they improved their appetite after Friday’s loss in the derby against Zvolen. The visitors from Liptov lost the ninth game out of the past ten and thus remained on the last rung of the table.
The home team took the lead in the 38th second with a lucky goal from close range by Boucher, and within a minute and a half, Wedman made it 2-0 on the power play. The people of Mikuláš switched goalkeepers and also responded with a numerical advantage with Ullman from the blue line. But before the break, D. Stránsky added the third goal behind Surák’s back. Bystrica lost a two-goal lead in the middle of the second half after a goal by Taylor. And since Réway didn’t use two goals to equalize, a penalty came in the third period. Wedman made it 4-2 from a power play without preparation and made it 5-2 in the opponent’s abandoned goal when he played in the box of Petriska.

Mikuláš showed his quality even though he is where he is. However, he still has quality players , especially going forward and in power play.
The game then became even. The Liptovs were biting, they were unpleasant, especially in the second third. The turning point was that we defended the opponent’s power play in three against five. There was great sacrifice from our players, blocked shots, the goalkeeper also helped us there. In the third period, we didn’t want to let Mikuláš into anything, which we succeeded in doing.

Juraj Faith, coach of Liptovský Mikuláš: “We had a difficult start to the match, because we conceded two goals in front of the goal from the first two shots of the opponent, which should not happen. We came back to the match in the second period, in which we played well, we were the better team. At 3 :2 we shot at the post and did not use the almost two-minute power play of five against three.
The rule was confirmed, as we couldn’t score a goal in two minutes in five against three. It basically broke down there. What we need is a goal with which we would equalize or come out on top in the match. After that, things opened up and Bystrica closed the match with goals 4:2 and 5:2. We struggled, but that’s the bottom line. However, you need to add something extra and be a difference player in the team. Everyone has to look at themselves and realize that whether they are different in the team or not.”

The hockey players of the Vlci Žilina team won Sunday’s meeting of the 10th round of the Tipos extraliga over HK Poprad 4:3. Canadian defender Miguel Tourigny scored the winning goal in the 48th minute by a newcomer to the top competition. The people of Žilina achieved their fourth victory of the season and with 14 points they caught up with the “Chamois” in the table.
The home team scored two goals each in the opening act and in the middle part. Aurel Nauš got the visitors back into the game in the 52nd minute, but Poprad couldn’t equalize in the end.

The hockey players of HKM Zvolen won Sunday’s match of the 10th round of the Tipos extraliga on the ice of Dukla Trenčín 4:3. Zvolenčany followed up the derby triumph against Banská Bystrica (3:1) and in the table they are ninth with 11 points, Trenčany have five points less and are in 10th place.
The guests led from the 10th minute after a goal by Kyle Olson, but at the beginning of the middle part, the development of the game took a turn. Zvolen forward Marek Hecl was penalized for hitting the goalpost until the end of the match, and the Trenians took the lead thanks to Brett Stapley and Ville Leskinen in a five-minute power play.
