When Derrick Henry agreed to team up with Lamar Jackson and join the Baltimore Ravens this past season, many were excited to see what this duo could accomplish together.
Once again, they showed opposing defenses why it’s a “pick your poison” approach when trying to defend against this Ravens offense. Trying to stop Henry in the running game is already a difficult task in itself, so you have to deal with Jackson’s ability to beat defenses both through the air and on the ground.
Against the Washington Commanders, the Ravens had 484 yards of offense, with Henry rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns and Jackson throwing for 323 yards and a touchdown while adding 40 yards on the ground. Despite the impressive numbers, Jackson Didn’t call this Baltimore offense the best in the NFL but he’s just one player who doesn’t want to cap what this unit can accomplish.
Also, for anyone wondering what Henry would have left in the tank at age 30 and used it extensively during his time with the Tennessee Titans. Well, it looks like he still has a lot left in him as he became just the second player in NFL history to record over 600 rushing yards and over eight touchdown passes in his first six games with a new team, joining Eric Dickerson who did so in 1983.

The Lions take revenge in Dallas but suffer a big blow
When the Detroit Lions were at “Jerry World” to take on the Dallas Cowboys last season, the game had its fair share of controversy with a questionable penalty leading to a victory for the home team.
This time around the Lions were going to leave no doubt as to who the better team was and it was an emphatic 47-9 victory that sent a message to everyone in the league. There was no area of the game that Detroit did not dominate as they had 492 yards of offense while the defense forced five turnovers.
Quarterback Jared Goff recorded his second straight game with a passer rating above 150.0.
You know things are going well for your team when your offensive coordinator moves from the position of offensive lineman involved in play calls. The Lions attempted to throw to Taylor Decker in the end zone, but the pass was broken up . Later in the game, Detroit attempted a hook and ladder from Amon-Ra St. Brown to Penei Sewell, but it was negated by a penalty.
After becoming a serious playoff contender last season, the Lions once again demonstrated their championship form. Unfortunately, the injury to star passer Aidan Hutchinson could put an end to those plans.
Hutchinson was carted off the field and underwent surgery for a fractured tibia that will keep him sidelined indefinitely, now leaving Detroit without its best defensive player.

Jones offered a reality check to the Cowboys on his birthday
You have to think the last thing Jerry Jones wanted to do on his 82nd birthday was wonder if his head coach was in the hot seat.
Unfortunately, that’s the reality Jones and the Cowboys find themselves in after a demoralizing effort that saw fans leave AT&T Stadium after three quarters.
Dallas had a lot of success at home last season, going undefeated and it has now become a house of horrors for this team.
In their last four home games – including their loss to the Inexperienced Bay Packers in the playoffs last season – the Cowboys are 0-4 and were outscored 110-35 in the first half.
Heading into the bye week, Jones made it clear he has no plans to give Mike McCarthy the nod.
“I don’t view this as hypothetical,” Jones told reporters. “I’m not going to be hypothetical in considering a coaching change, and I’m not at all. »
Frankly, the blame for the Cowboys’ state of affairs should rest on Jones’ shoulders, considering the decline this group has seen under his belt (no, we’re not just talking about the misery of the last 18 years).
What was once a strain with the Cowboys’ offensive line and running game has now become a crutch. Quarterback Dak Prescott has the most turnovers in the red zone and has been out of sync with CeeDee Lamb at times.
Injuries to key defensive players like Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Marshawn Kneeland, DaRon Bland and Eric Kendricks provide a convenient excuse, but that’s not the only problem plaguing this team.
Jones’ decision to not pay Prescott and Lamb prevented the team from going out and taking steps that would have helped his team compete this season.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, it will be up to the players to turn things around, but recent games against Tremendous Bowl contenders show that this Dallas team is far from being at that level.
Does Caleb Williams look like the real deal?
Usually a trip overseas to London isn’t an easy adjustment for teams, but Williams was ready to put on the show.
With four touchdowns and 226 yards through the air, Williams is showing steady improvements in his game with each passing week. Selon NFL Research, he became the first quarterback to finish first overall in the common draft era and win four of his first six career starts.
The Bears will then have their bye before setting up a marquee showdown against No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.
Not only will this be a key check to see how Williams stacks up to Daniels, but it will also show if the Bears are going in the right direction or still need work before they can be considered a playoff team.
Maye impresses from his debut despite the loss
There were fears that the New England Patriots would throw rookie Drake Maye into the fire, but he certainly performed better than expected. Although it wasn’t perfect, he finished 20 of 33 for 243 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions and a fumble.
It was the best performance by a Patriots quarterback this season and it was not an easy game against the Houston Texans defense. He even received positive reviews from former top defensive player JJ Watt.
“If I’m a Patriots fan and I watch today’s game, yes, you lost and you gave up a lot of points,” Watt said about Maye. “But I’m encouraged by the way Drake Maye played. I’m really encouraged going forward because he’s a guy I can get excited about.
The need for the Patriots is to try to improve the safety around Maye after he was sacked four times and ensure his confidence isn’t affected if things start to go wrong. This team can’t afford to lose another first round pick on a quarterback.
Quick hits
The Packers offense welcomed Romeo Doubs with a two-touchdown game for the receiver who apparently wasn’t happy with his role in the offense… The Saints’ first game without Derek Carr was tough, with the defense allowing nearly 600 yards and didn’t lose four of them. in a row… The Browns had chances to beat the Eagles but Deshaun Watson looked well below average but Kevin Stefanski remains loyal to his quarterback who hurts his team more than he helps it.
