Harburg – This year’s Hamburg competition took place at the state performance center in Eulenkamp at the weekend U18 team championships instead of. This is where the first selection takes place on the way to qualifying for the German Individual Championships, which leads to the North German Championships for those placed.

The KSC young talents Linda Geerdts, Xenia Scheit and Julia Lewitzki competed as a fighting group with the judo ladies from Tura Harksheide.

In the end, they were happy about the successful defense of their title: in the final encounter they defeated the TH Eilbek judo team 4:2. After Linda increased the lead to 3:2, Julia stepped onto the mat in the last team fight. A win for them would make the title clear; a defeat would result in a draw. But Julia made everything clear after just 22 seconds: she skillfully threw her opponent to the mat with a remarkable counterattack technique.

The team is now preparing for the upcoming North German Championships on November 16th in Hamburg. Qualification for the German Championships should be fought for here.
