Things are bad in Dallas
With a defensive unit deprived of several elements, including DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys were devoured wholeheartedly by the Detroit Lions. A humiliating 47-9 defeat suffered at home. The worst defeat for the Texan team since 1988 – which also occurs on the day of 82e birthday of its owner, Jerry Jones.
The Lions scored points in four of their first five possessions, during a first half that they dominated 27-6. Jared Goff finished his day with 315 passing yards and three touchdown passes. But bad news shook Detroit, as its defensive pillar Aidan Hutchinson suffered a fractured tibia in his left leg in the third quarter. It’s a heavy loss for Dan Campbell’s men.
Back to the Cowboys, who are pitiful at home with three defeats in three games this season. Mike McCarthy’s men experienced atrocious first halves in each of their home games: 35-16 against the Saints, 21-6 against the Ravens and 27-6 against the Lions. Dallas will enjoy a week off before facing the 49ers in San Francisco.
The bear tamed the jaguar
The Bears signed their third victory in a row, crushing the Jaguars 35-16. Caleb William has two touchdown passes and four interceptions in his first three career games. He claims seven profitable throws against a single interception during the winning streak. The quarterback was brilliant during Sunday’s game in London, England. The University of Southern California alum completed 23 of 29 pass attempts for 226 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Add to that 56 yards in four carries for the first overall pick in the last draft.
Cole Kmet and Keenan Allen were Williams’ paying targets with two touchdowns each. D’Andre Swift, meanwhile, generated 91 yards rushing and scored a major in a third consecutive game.
Matt Eberflus’ men are on a good run, with 71 points scored in their last two outings. The defensive unit, led by Eric Washington, continues to stand out by allowing less than 20 points per game since the start of the season.
Love is in the Air

There is love in the air in Green Bay, as Packers fans witnessed a great performance from Jordan Love. He guided the Wisconsin team to a 34-13 victory against the Arizona Cardinals. Love threw four touchdown passes for the second time this season and accumulated 258 yards through the air. Romeo Doubs caught two of his teammate’s winning passes, including an incredible throw from Love, in the third quarter.
Green Bay’s defensive unit was uncompromising against Kyler Murray and the Arizona offense. She caused a turnover in each of the Cardinals’ last three offensive sequences. All fumbles forced by Matt LaFleur’s men. Competition is fierce in the National Conference North Division. With their 4-2 record, the Packers remain in third place, behind the Vikings (5-0) and the Lions (4-1) and ahead of the Bears (4-2).
The slide is over
The Pittsburgh Steelers ended a two-game losing streak with a 32-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Justin Fields completed 14 of 24 passing attempts for 145 yards and 59 yards rushing. The quarterback scored two rushing touchdowns. Two profitable sequences following turnovers caused against the Raiders. All this in front of Russell Wilson, who was reintroduced to the lineup after nursing a calf injury. It will be interesting to see whether Fields or Wilson gets Mike Tomlin’s trust for the next game.
Running back Najee Harris had his best performance of the season. He scored his first touchdown and reached the 100-yard mark for the first time in six games.
The Raiders’ depth was tested in this matchup, with the absences of Davante Adams, Jacoby Meyer and Zamir Smith. Tight end Brock Bowers was the most targeted player in a second straight game for a total of 71 yards. Aidan O’Connell completed 27 passes in 40 attempts for 227 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
