Moncalieri imposes itself again: 1-0 away win against Bellinzago

BELLINZAGO NOVARESE – Moncalieri continues its winning streak in the championship, bringing home another three points with a narrow victory on the Bellinzago pitch. The team led by Ferrarese, thanks to a goal from Ceppari in the second half, maintains the top of the table and consolidates the first position.

The match was characterized by constant balance, with both teams struggling to find space to impose their game. Moncalieri came close to taking the lead in the first few minutes: in the 3rd minute, Mellano started on the wing and served an excellent cross to Repetti, whose header, intended for goal, was involuntarily deflected by teammate Gueli.

Bellinzago responded immediately with a dangerous move by Barbini, who in the 5th minute attempted a shot to cross, but was unable to break the deadlock. From then on, the first half ended without further significant opportunities.

The second half began with Moncalieri determined to find the net. Correale had a good opportunity with a volley, which went just wide of the target. A few minutes later, in the 50th minute, the turning point came: Gueli put a perfect cross into the area and Ceppari, ready for the tap-in, scored the decisive goal that gave his team the lead.

Despite the reaction of Bellinzago, who insistently sought the equalizer, Moncalieri’s defense managed to hold up until the final whistle. The most dangerous action for the hosts came in the 85th minute, when Barchi created havoc with a treacherous ball into the area, but the Moncalierese rearguard managed to avert the danger.

At the end of the match, Mister Ferrarese commented on the victory as follows: “We are a team that is growing over the weeks, so it was unthinkable to be able to win every match with a certain number of goals. Throughout the championship, there are and will be matches like today’s, but despite the difficulties we maintained our clarity and did not suffer any major dangers. We certainly must and can do better, but I am satisfied with the performance, because winning always helps you believe in the work you are doing over the weeks. We faced a good team, on a difficult pitch, but we didn’t steal anything, from my point of view: we certainly took new ideas to work on, so credit to our opponents.”

Even the match-winner, Elisa Ceppari, spoke about the match and her decisive goal: “Today was a complicated match: they are a very physical team and the pitch did not allow us to impose our game, but these matches are part of the journey. It definitely helped to believe in it from start to finish. My positive start? It’s a process that started last year with the Coach, who asked me to work on my position on the pitch. The credit, obviously, also goes to my teammates: if the ball reaches the area, it means that someone did a good job in the previous meters.”
