He sport Training is essential to develop any society. In times where a sector of society questions everything in the Statethe good news is that Neuquén maintained one of the previous efforts that are good for many boys and girls in the province, such as support for participation in the iconic Evita Games.
The Government headed by Rolando Figueroa announced that Neuquén athletes under 16 years of age will participate in all disciplines of the Evita National Sports Games. that will take place from November 4 to 9 in Mar del Plata.
The continuity of the event was in doubt, but its holding was finally resolved and there will be a regional presence by state initiative. “The province will be represented in one of the most important youth sporting events in the country and which, in each edition, brings together more than 8,000 athletes. The participation of the Neuquén delegation is part of the provincial government’s guidelines to promote sport as a policy of state,” added the official statement.
One of the issues that is under debate at this political, economic and social moment in Argentina is linked to the destination of public funds. In that sense, the national government is no longer responsible for the money involved in transporting and hosting the delegations because it considers it an expense and not an investment.
“Unlike other editions, the delegation’s participation will be financed with provincial resources,” they clarified in the statement itself.
Neuquén has great athletes throughout history who have participated in the Evita Games. For those who did not continue practicing their discipline, it still represented a very important experience from a human, cultural and recreational perspective.
Some of the sports in which Neuquéns stood out in the different editions are football, handball, basketball, cycling, badminton, boxing, athletics, judo and taekwondo.
The importance of the Evita Games is supported by its history, since they were created by Dr. Ramón Carrillo in 1947, at the beginning of the first Peronist government. The event is a pioneer in its style in the history of mass social sport in Latin America.
