SANTO DOMINGO.- The vice president of Esgido Baseball Club, Eduardo Najri, highlighted the effort that has been made during the offseason for the Lions to obtain their 17th crown this season.

Likewise, he highlighted the work of the general manager Luis Rojas, his assistant Ángel “Aroboy” Santana and the Operations group, as well as the decision to hand over the reins of the team to Albert Pujols, in whom “we firmly believe that he will take us to earth fiancee”.

“Without a doubt, the Chosen One has had the most active offseason in our history. We have made 10 changes. We have also signed a good number of free agents because we are focused on a single purpose, which is to win so that we, the chosen players, can celebrate as we deserve,” declared Najri during the team’s Fan Fest held this Monday at Galería 360.

During the activity, the players were able to share with their favorite players in the Meet and Greet, they enjoyed four MLB The Show stations where they played with the Lions’ legend teams, took photos with Rufo, the team’s mascot, and received items promotional.

Likewise, fans participated in the raffle for a one-night stay and “Chosen Experience” at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, purchased tickets and Sport City items with special discounts, and also tasted toasts from the sponsoring brands.

For his part, Pujols, expressing himself ready for the start of the season and leading the team to success, announced the red starters for the first five games.

“On Wednesday Elian Leyva is going to pitch, who is going to open against the Tigres del Licey and then Phillips Valdez, a veteran of this league, will go. Eduardo Rivera has earned the start of the third game of the season; Connor Thomas will be our fourth starter and our fifth will be Víctor Santos,” revealed the scarlet foreman.

Red Godmother

During the Fan Fest, Daniella María Bonarelli Bonetti was also presented as godmother of the Chosen One for the 2024-25 season.

Bonarelli studies civil engineering and has been a Lions fan since she was little, regularly attending the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium. She is the daughter of Salvatore Bonarelli and Paola Bonetti.

Daniella is the granddaughter of the current president of Esído, Luis Manuel Bonetti, and represents the fourth generation of Carlos Manuel Bonetti Burgos, one of the founders of the Esído Baseball Club.

The Leones del Esgido matches will be broadcast on national television through Digital 15, with narrators José Antonio Mena and Michel Tueni, accompanied by commentator José Luis Mendoza. In the Red Anteroom and as a field reporter will be Natacha Peña.
