The Swiss reached the second round of the ATP tournament in Stockholm. Marc-Andrea Hüsler fails in two sets

Dominic Stricker stood on the court in the Swedish capital for 2:19 hours, then he had victory in his pocket: The 22-year-old from Bern (ATP 317) defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic (USA/ATP 90) 6:4, 5:7 , 6:4 down. His next opponent is the Italian Matteo Berrettini (ATP 42) on Wednesday.
Stricker only started the season in June after long-term back problems. Since then he has celebrated a single victory on the ATP Tour, mostly playing tournaments on the Challenger Tour. At his last appearance in Tiburon (USA) he had to forfeit again, but gave the all-clear a short time later. He played his last game at the highest level at the end of August at the US Open (out in round 1).
Hüsler is eliminated
From a Swiss perspective, Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 152) was unable to double in Stockholm. Hüsler lost to the Italian Lorenzo Sonego (ATP 50) 6:7 (1:7), 5:7 in 112 minutes. Sonego had not won a singles on the tour since winning the tournament in Winston-Salem two months ago.
