Iván Ramiro Córdoba It was a topic of discussion a few days ago after the recent tributes from the Colombian Football Federation to the 100 years of history of the institution and many fans criticized its absence on a poster where several figures appeared.
Despite having scored the title goal in El Campín against Mexico in 2001, the FCF did not include the former captain of the national team and although he was not the only one absent, the fans were hurt by not seeing the legend in the image.
Beyond the criticism and everything that surrounded the absence of the historic defender, Iván Ramiro Córdoba himself spoke out after this rudeness by the Federation, but when everyone expected a claim, it was finally the opposite, because with the same image where no is, he took the opportunity to show that he feels proud for having contributed to the Colombian National Team.
“I feel proud to have been part of the unforgettable history of the Colombian National Team, I will always be grateful for feeding my desire to wear that shirt, dreaming of succeeding with it,” Córdoba said through a post on Instagram.
Likewise, the former defender gave an opinion beyond the present and looked towards the future, where he wished the best to the different categories of women’s teams for everything they have shown in recent years.
“A special greeting to the Women’s National Team and our youth teams, who continue to build our future and have been a fundamental part of our history. Let’s go for more,” concluded Córdoba.
