In Judo Pro League, Montpellier delights the audience at the Palais des sports Coubertin by winning with panache

For the second day of the French mixed team championship and after its initial defeat, Montpellier won against Asnières (6-3)

Six days after a defeat which gave their coach Arthur Combeau a headache, the Montpellier judokas perfectly set the record straight by offering themselves a prestigious victory against Asnières on Tuesday evening.

The Palais des sports Pierre-de-Coubertin vibrated and, this time, the Montpellier technician ended the evening with a smile, even falling into the arms of its president Christel Lavaud, once victory was achieved.

The evening started perfectly for the locals. Axel Mohedano signed an authentic performance by emerging victorious from the fight against the Moroccan from Asnières Abderrahmane Boushita. The young 19-year-old judoka pushed his opponent to disqualification and opened the Montpellier counter.

Camille Meyer offers victory to the MJO

The meeting then got carried away just like the public at the Palais des sports Pierre-de-Coubertin in the Hauts-de-Massane district in front of two consecutive ippons, one on each side. The Hauts-de-Seine team first equalized when Meriem Medjouri beat Emma Melis. In the process, Montpellier’s Hugo David brilliantly gave his team the advantage.

Dominated during her fight last week, Eva Grassin took revenge on herself after a tough fight against Jaelyn Chipan and allowed MJO to break just before the break (3-1).

Upon returning from the locker room, Anthony Tama’s victory over Nidhal Belgacem gave some fresh air to the scoreboard (4-1). All that was missing was a won fight for Montpellier to win the match against the Ile-de-France residents. It was done in the next one dominated by Camille Meyer on Juliette Diolot.

Building on this success, the MJO will travel to Bègles and Nantes in November to seek qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition.
