Santa Fe seeks its second Libertadores Femenina final against Independiente del Valle | Colombian Soccer | Women’s Soccer

Independiente Santa Fe reached the semifinal of Libertadores Femenina 2024, which allows them to dream of reaching their second final of the continental tournament, something they have not achieved since 2021 when they fell in the title game against Corinthians.

Now, the lionesses, the only representatives from Colombia in the tournament, face the revelation team, Independiente del Valle, who are coming from less to more and surprisingly have just eliminated Deportivo Cali after beating them 3-0.

This will be the second confrontation between Santa Fe and Del Valle, since they had already collided in the group stage, with the victory being 1-0 for those led by Ómar Ramírez, so that good precedent can serve to aspire to a final.

Santa Fe will have a big loss for this decisive match against the Ecuadorians and it is Wendy Bonilla, who was sent off against Alianza Lima, so there is expectation for who her replacement could be.

In case the lionesses manage to qualify for the grand final, they will be expected there by the four-time Libertadores Femenina champions, Corinthians, who are favorites for the title after eliminating Boca Juniors on penalties.

The dream of Santa Fe’s first international title on the women’s international stage is still latent and we will have to wait if they fulfill the task of eliminating the surprising Independiente del Valle team.

Santa Fe probable alignment:

Yéssica Velásquez; Natalia Gaitán, Andrea Pérez, Leury Basanta, Nancy Acosta; Micheel Baldallo, Mariana Zamorano, Gabriela Huertas, Luisa Valbuena; Karla Torres and Nelly Córdoba.
