For nearly twenty-five years, the Arc en Ciel Plouaret archery club has been supporting adults and children in learning archery. “We have around fifty members this year,” explains Bernard Kerboriou, president of the club since its very beginnings. Two supervising teachers accompany the shooters divided into three level groups from 8 years old.
“We also train young people who, during the year, will be able to obtain a diploma recognized by the French Union of Secular Physical Education Works (Ufolep) in order to become a supervisor in their turn.” When rainy days arrive, the students leave the shooting range behind the city stadium to go to the Yves-Lahellec complex. Here, we learn shooting techniques as well as concentration. “It has a beneficial effect that calms,” explains Christian, a beginner student who has just joined the Saturday morning group. In addition to the courses and internal competitions in December and June, the club aims to reopen blowgun courses during the year.
