Tokyo, Oct. 16 (Jiji Press)—The Imperial Household Agency of Japan on Wednesday released the list of 1,918 guests at the Garden Party to be hosted by Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at the Akasaka Imperial Gardens in Tokyo. , next October 30.
Included in the list are various persons of merit, local government officials and their spouses. Among them are the architect Kuma Kengo and Hase Hiroshi, governor of Ishikawa prefecture.
This year, gold medalists from the Paris Olympic Games have also been invited, including Abe Hifumi, who triumphed in the men’s 66 kg category in judo, as well as gymnast Oka Shinnosuke and javelin thrower Kitaguchi Haruka.
According to the agency, starting this year the full name of the spouses will be included in the IDs given at the reception.
The menu will return to pre-COVID-19 standards, although alcohol will not be served.
