Margot Bauhofer floats dissatisfied to the upper floor. Since she saw that stair lift advert in a TV magazine, everything has changed. One call, three days later a sales representative presented her with the contract and the 79-year-old signed it. “The purchase happened so quickly that I’m now in a mess,” says the pensioner from Wuppertal. All she has to do is sit down and push a lever to the left to go up the stairs. But Bauhofer is not happy with her purchase, which cost around 7,300 euros. “There is constant trouble. Once I had to wait five days for a technician to show up.” And the engine noise was too loud for her.
