If Richard Gasquet will end his career at Roland‐Garros in 2025, Rafael Nadal will bow out next month in Malaga in the Davis Cup. And yet, the two men, linked to the end, announced their next retirement a few hours apart.
During an interview given to Clay Tennisthe Frenchman answered a few questions about the Spaniard, whom he has never beaten on the main circuit in 18 confrontations.
Question : “Is Nadal the best player of all time? »
Gasquet : “One of the best. It’s hard to say he’s the best, but he’s one of the best. »
Question : “Mentally speaking, what was the challenge of getting on the pitch to face him? »
Gasquet : “Playing against him has always been a great tennis challenge… and mental, physical… everything. All. »
