The Buffalo Bills have found a successor for Stefon Diggs. Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns is expected to take over his role and play wide receiver for the Bills. Diggs was traded to the Texans.

The trade is tough: In addition to Cooper, the deal includes a sixth-round pick in 2025 for the Bills, in return the Browns receive the third-round pick in the same year and an additional seventh-round pick in the following year. The team from Ohio was under pressure because the receiver was in the final year of his contract and several clubs were courting the 30-year-old.

Cooper: congenial partner for Josh Allen

Cooper reached his personal career high with the Browns last season. The receiver cannot yet match the 1,250 yards from 2023 this season. The Browns’ offense has stuttered tremendously so far, and the 1.85 meter man is also looking for his form.

The Bills are hoping that the trade will bring new impetus to the offense and a starting point for quarterback Josh Allen, who has so far been poorly served by the receivers. Coach Sean McDermott hopes the five-time Pro Bowl player will fill this gap.
