NBA, the season to come: Kings called to make a leap in quality

The Kings are preparing for the start of a season that certainly sees them among the main candidates for a playoff spot.
Mike Brown‘s team was a surprise two seasons ago, when it was eliminated in the first round of the postseason by the Warriors in seven games; a franchise looking for confirmation in the last year, closed to the play-in after the defeat against the Pelicans, and in this one a solid regular season is expected, full of expectations for a now mature leap in quality.
In Sacramento, they all have what it takes to do well, with the latest draft bringing DeRozan to the roster.

DeRozan the icing

Three-year 74 million for DeMar DeRozan, star player that the Kings signed this summer, sacrificing what was an immovable starter like Harrison Barnes just to add a top-level scorer like the former Chicago Bulls player. DeRozan is above all a decisive player, capable of winning games in key moments of the match: a trait that has been missing in recent seasons from Mike Brown’s team compared to their more highly rated opponents.
Together with Fox and Sabonis, DeRozan form three stars of the Kings, to which are added two players of temperament and balance such as Keegan Murray and Malik Monk, for a very respectable quintet.

Fox postpones renewal

Meanwhile, De’Aaron Fox rejected the contract extension offered to him by Kings, equal to 165 million in three years. It seems clear that number 5 is aiming for decidedly higher figures for next year. In case of election to the three All-NBA quintets at the end of the season, Fox he could earn the maximum salary of $345 million in five years.
