At the end of the 2024 season, the current ball licensing cycle for baseball and softball games in Germany also expired. The German Baseball and Softball Association had completely re-tendered ball licensing. The DBV executive committee set itself the goal of reducing the costs of the game balls and at the same time increasing the quality.

The following balls will be permitted as follows from the 2025 season:

1. Baseball-Bundesliga:

Rawlings FSOLB at a fixed price of €7.30, distributed by Tomas Vavrusa from the Czech Republic. The DBV will inform the clubs of the 1st Baseball Bundesliga separately about the exact ordering procedure.

All other baseball leagues:

  • Rawlings FSOLB (distributed by Tomas Vavrusa)
  • Rawlings ROLB1 (distributed by Tomas Vavrusa)
  • Teammate TM120 (distributed by Moonshot Distribution/Juan Martin)
  • Benson LGB1 (sold via Trout)
  • Grizzly G100LS (sold via Baseball Outlet)
  • LOUD A200 (sold through Baseball Pro Shop)
  • Only offspring: LOUD A300 (sold via Baseball Pro Shop)
  • Wilson A1030 (sold through Baseball Pro Shop)

All Softball leagues:

  • LOUD W100 (sold via Baseball Pro Shop)
  • Wilson A9011 (sold through Baseball Pro Shop)
  • Wilson A9011 (sold through Baseball Outlet)
  • Wilson A9011 (sold by Tomas Vavrusa)
  • Rawlings PX2RYLAH (distributed by Tomas Vavrusa)
  • Benson LGB12Y (sold via Trout)
  • Teammate TM4712 (distributed by Moonshot Distribution/Juan Martin)

In addition, the DBV will be selling baseballs and softballs for the first time, which will be permitted in all baseball leagues (except the 1st Baseball Bundesliga) and softball leagues. The DBV orders these balls directly from the factory in China and will sell them via the DBV shop at the purchase price. If the quality proves to be sufficient, it will be examined whether baseball will be allowed in the 1st Baseball Bundesliga from the 2026 season. The DBV will provide separate information about the price and the exact sales procedure.

Remaining stocks of game balls that were approved until the 2024 season and are now no longer licensed can temporarily be used in games until May 15, 2025. Only the Rawlings FSOLB is permitted in the 1st Baseball Bundesliga.
