Adrian Mannarino‘s adventure in Almaty therefore ends in the second round after a defeat in two sets against the Australian <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/atp-adelaide-thanasi-kokkinakis-is-prevented-from-serving-by-raven-australian-tries-to-shoot-animal-tennis-video/" title="ATP Adelaide: Thanasi Kokkinakis is prevented from serving by raven – Australian tries to shoot animal – tennis video”>Aleksandar Vukic (7-6 [4]6-3). The two men were imperious on their serves during the first set: only one break point conceded (and saved) by Adrian Mannarino, none for Vukic on his serve. Quickly behind in the tie-break, the Frenchman was never able to catch up.

Mannarino then quickly lost his serve on his second break point conceded during the second set, to be down three games to two. Despite two break points at 4-3, the Frenchman was unable to catch up and lost his serve a second time in the process, for the last game of the set and the match.
