The capital of the Czech Republic is expecting a rare visit in the spring of next year, the four-time winner of the Champions League will come to Prague, which not only the football community, but also Vladimír Šmicer is looking forward to.

As part of the March talk show TIKI-TAKA live in the O2 arena, football megastar Clarence Seedorf will be one of the guests.

The former football player of Ajax, Real Madrid, AC and Inter Milan has so many trophies on his account that many a professional would be envious. In addition to an incredible four-eared Champions League winners’ cup, he became the champion of the Netherlands twice, twice of Italy and won the Spanish La Liga title once.

When this legendary midfielder sits on the couch next to Petr Svěcený and Švancara in the O2 arena, he will not be the only winner of the Champions League in the biggest Czech hall. The traditional TIKI-TAKA guest is Vladimír Šmicer.

Schmicer has better memories

And that succeeded in defeating Seedorf. This happened in perhaps the most famous Champions League final of all time, which dates back to 2005. Šmicer’s Liverpool were losing by three goals in Istanbul. The rest is history. The legendary leveling of the score and winning on penalties will not be repeated by anyone.

“His participation will be a welcome boost to the program. Clarence Seedorf was a great footballer and I would say that he is popular among Czech fans, we played against Holland several times. He is a world football star and such a gift for our fans, he will help us make it a good show,” says Vladimír Šmicer for PrahaIN.cz.

He admits that because of the memorable Champions League final, which was more successful for Šmicer and the Reds, there will definitely be some hints.

“Of course, we can’t avoid that,” smiles Šmicer. “I will be talked about better than Clarence, but that’s football, he’s won it several times, so he can’t win every time. Winning and sometimes defeats are part of sport.”

TIKI-TAKA in the O2 arena is not a historical event just because of Seedorf. It will be the first ever talk show in the largest Czech hall.

“When the guys, Petr Svěcený and Petr Švancara, put it on the O2 universum, I told them if they were crazy. A show for 3,500 people? We don’t sell that. It sold twice. So they said that now the only thing left to do is try to sell out the big one. We’ll see, I’m curious, hopefully as many tickets as possible will be sold to create a great atmosphere,” says Vladimír Šmicer.

Up to the stars

The previous Prague live talk show was held in the already mentioned O2 universum, due to great interest a second performance was added, which surprised everyone.

Moderator Petr Svěcený told the editors after both performances that it was undoubtedly one of the biggest events in his professional life.

He promises big things from the O2 arena next year. “We hope that together we can once again deliver to the audience an extraordinary experience that combines football, other sports and entertainment. It will be the first such talk show in the history of one of the largest halls in Europe. It is essential for us that the fans not only buy tickets, but also that they leave as satisfied as possible,” he said in an interview with the PrahaIN.cz website.

TIKI-TAKA live in the O2 arena will take place on March 15, 2024, and in addition to the already mentioned names, the participation of Marko Jankulovski and Pavel Horváth is confirmed.
