The announcement comes shortly after Leandro Romagnoli resigned as coach of the ‘Ciclón’ after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Godoy Cruz. The coach of 68 years arrives after a recent passage through Rosario Centrala club with which he was crowned champion of the League Cup in 2023.
Miguel Ángel Russo thus begins his second stage on the San Lorenzo de Almagro bench, after a short stint in the 2008-2009 season, in which he recorded 17 wins, five draws and 14 losses, in a total of 36 games.
The ‘Ciclón’, which incorporated the Spaniard Iker Muniain this season, is in twenty-fourth position in the Argentine Professional League tournament, with just 18 points in 17 games and with half the points of the leader, Velez Sarsfield.
