PSG: Presnel Kimpembe participated in today’s training

It was through a publication in the evening on the X network, with photos of the day’s session at the PSG Campus, in Poissy, that the capital club announced the good news. In one of the photos, we recognize Presnel Kimpembe in action among his partners. An image that we haven’t seen for a long time and which gives – finally – hope of a future return to business for the international defender. The objective was to see him resume collective training in the second half of October. Even if he did not participate in the entire session, this appearance is an encouraging sign.

The 2018 world champion, who has not played a single minute of a match since a classic against OM at the Vélodrome on February 26, 2023, has had a string of injuries and disappointments for almost two years. Operated on for a ruptured Achilles tendon on March 1, 2023, he saw his return to play postponed following a faulty right Achilles tendon which would send him back to the operating room at the beginning of January 2024.

Last August, it was a muscular problem in his left leg contracted at the end of July which kept him on the sidelines of the group. After collecting bad news, Kimpembe finally resumed individual outdoor exercises at the beginning of September. Before that, the 29-year-old French international had worked on muscle strengthening, carried out weight-bearing exercises and physiotherapy with positive signals which allowed him to take an important step: returning to the pitches of the PSG Campus solo.

During this period he was always supported by his club which included his name on the list of players qualified for the Champions League. The sports management has also regularly made it known that it does not intend to let this pure PSG product leave, an example for many young people at the training center. This return among his partners for today’s session in the pouring rain perhaps marks the end of Kimpembe’s troubles.
