América stumbled again in Series B of the Brazilian Championship. This Thursday (10/17), Coelho drew 2-2 with Goiás, in the 32nd round. Team captain, midfielder Juninho evaluated the result at Independência and commented on the team’s future in the competition.

“The logical result is bad. At home, we had a great opportunity to get into the G4, but we didn’t. We started behind, we looked, they were in front again, and we looked”, began the player.

With the draw, América is sixth, with 49 points – one away from fourth Mirassol, who will still enter the field. Furthermore, the team can be overtaken and finish the round further away from the G4. If he won, he would move up to the Serie A access zone.

Despite the increasingly unfavorable scenario, Juninho remains confident in returning to the First Division: “Now it’s time to rest, work, we still really believe in access, it’s possible. We will fight as long as we have a chance”, concluded the midfielder.

America’s next game

América returns to the field to face Operário-PR, on Wednesday (10/23), at 9:30 pm, at the Germano Krüger Stadium, in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, for the 33rd round of Series B.
