Almost three billion Swedish kronor.

That’s how much money a club offered Barcelona to sign the shooting star Lamine Yamal this summer. President Joan Laporta himself reveals this on Barcelona’s own channels.

– A club contacted me to sign Lamine (Yamal, ed.) for 250 million euros (around SEK 2.8 billion), and I said no, says Laporta according to ESPN in the interview on Barcelona’s own channels.

At the same time, Laporta denies that the club has had to sell players for financial reasons.

– There are those who think that we have released players to balance the economy, but that is not the case. The players who have left have done so for sporting reasons.

However, which club it is about is shrouded in obscurity. Laporta himself does not want to reveal it, but previous information has claimed that it is about PSG.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo in September, football agent Andy Bara, who has Barcelona duo Dani Olmo and Mika Faye, revealed that PSG made a concrete record bid for the 17-year-old in the summer.

– I know that Barcelona rejected a huge offer worth 250 million euros from PSG for Lamine Yamal, the agent said then, according to ESPN.

Lamine Yamal is listed for 62 games with Barcelona. He has already represented the Spanish national team on 17 occasions – despite his young age.
