Former French world champion Paul Pogba wants to continue his football career with Italian record champions Juventus Turin after his doping ban expires. “I’m willing to give up money in order to still be able to play at Juve, I want to return to this club,” said the 31-year-old Gazzetta dello Sport. However, it was recently reported that the Turin-based company wanted to terminate the contract, which runs until 2026 and comes with an annual salary of around eight million euros. Juventus coach Thiago Motta had recently spoken about the midfielder in the past (“He was a great player, he hasn’t played for a long time”).
“The reality is that I am a Juve player and I am preparing to play at Juve,” Pogba said. His doping ban was recently reduced from four years to 18 months by the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) and will therefore expire in March 2025. Pogba wants to talk to Motta in the near future. “I’m a Juve player, that’s all I have in my head at the moment,” he said – and added: “It will be a new Pogba, hungrier, wiser and stronger. I only have one wish, to play football.”
