Sivak’s Setback: Title Loss and Match Challenges Ahead

The 25-year-old Sivák probably caught up with the match from the end of September, when he fought at a joint tournament of the RFA and IAF in the weight category up to 71 kg. And since his next match awaits him already this weekend, but on the contrary in a lower weight class up to 66 kilos, he has not been able to lose weight until now.

And so came the punishment. Tvrďák, originally from Ostrava, lost his championship title after three successful belt defenses. “Vašek Sivak did not meet the weight limit by 2.4 kilograms and loses the title and the opportunity to defend it in this match. We will soon let you know how his opponent has decided and whether he will accept the match,” the RFA organization informed on social networks.

At the moment, there is uncertainty as to whether the blockbuster at the gala evening in Žilina will happen at all. At the moment, it depends on the decision of the Hungarian champion and challenger Farkaš whether he accepts the match anyway. If so, a significant part of the opponent’s salary will go to his account, which certainly does not climb to small heights.

“It’s a big disappointment because it should have been a title fight. We will see if it will really be a fight for the belt, with the fact that if Farkaš wins, he will become the champion, or if it will become a superfight, where no one will fight for the title. But we’ll see if László accepts it at all. Negotiations are currently underway with the fighters, it will be clear in a few hours,” Boris Marhanský, co-founder of RFA, informs Sport.cz.

At the same time, the undefeated Czech assured during Wednesday’s press conference that he is doing well with his weight. He also spat out confident words towards his opponent, realizing that he could not afford to hesitate for the first time. “I don’t deal with myself. If, God forbid, I lose, I would like to know that I gave my best performance and that there was nothing more that could have been done. I would rather lose it in front of people, they would deal with it a lot. I know it would come. I can’t afford it because of the people,” he knew well.

This was not the only problem for RFA ahead of this weekend’s tournament. Even former talent, Slovakian Gábor Boráros, who weighed 900 grams, could not meet the weight. Even the popular Brazilian Joilton Lutterbach did not do well, but his clash under MMA rules should not be in danger.
