DThe U18, U14 and U12 of the Wiener Neustädter Diving Ducks were crowned Austrian champions.
After the Chicklets and the Ducks achieved the historic double for adults, the Wiener Neustädter baseball youth team also won at the Austrian Championships in the last few days. The U18 won all four games in the round-robin tournament against the Metrostars and the Wanderers and confidently secured the gold medal.
The U14 was in action in Feldkirch (Vorarlberg). After three wins in three group games, the Ducks clearly won the semi-finals against the Wanderers with 8:3. The final against the Metrostars turned into a real thriller, with the Wiener Neustädter ultimately coming out on top 3-2. The U12 reached the final with victories over the Hard Bulls, the Feldkirch Cardinals and the SG BeaverStars. There was an 11:7 win against the Hurricanes and the Ducks’ third gold medal in the youth division.
There was also a bronze medal. The U10 survived the group phase at the Ballpark Freudenau and then had to narrowly admit defeat to the Vienna Wanderers 8:9 in the semi-finals. In the game for third place there was a clear 12:2 win against the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers. The Wiener Neustädter U16 missed out on the medals in fourth place.
