Bolivarian Bicentennial Games: four new ambassadors will promote the contest | News

The athlete Kiara Arango and the artists Manuelcha Prado, Diosdado Gaitán Castro and Qori Sisicha are the new four ambassadors of the Bolivarian Games of the Bicentennial Ayacucho 2024, who will contribute to the promotion and dissemination of the multi-sports event scheduled from November 28 to December 8 this year.

The Bolivarian ambassadors were chosen not only for their career and multiple individual achievements, but also for their commitment to the sport, culture and art of our country, having become an example and inspiration for Peruvians, especially children and young people.

“We are sure that each of you will not only represent Ayacucho, but the essence and diversity of every corner of our country. Together we will build a legacy that inspires and pays tribute to our athletes and our culture because Ayacucho is all of us.”said Rosa Alegría Alegría, administrative secretary of the Special Legacy Project, during the ceremony.

Example of improvement and resilience

Kiara Arango, young judoka, medalist in the Cali-Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games, as well as in the Junior Pan American Cup and the 2021 Pan American Judo Open, is a clear example of improvement and resilience, demonstrated in her life story: she left with barely 16 years from her native Huamanga to live alone in Lima, while she joined the national preselection of the specialty. His career continues to rise.

“More than an honor, it is an opportunity for all athletes. “Sport is not only competition, but it also unites us and I know that in these Games we are all going to unite around sport, culture and art.”said Arango after receiving her recognition as a Bolivarian ambassador.

She is joined by Manuelcha Prado, one of the most brilliant performers of the Ayacucho guitar, who has dedicated five decades of experience connecting Andean music with global audiences and promoting the cultural diversity of our country.

“This is a recognition of the work of Andean artists and, in particular, those from Ayacucho. We artists recover the sleeping sounds of the earth and the cosmos to return them to our people. “Sports, culture, art, education and history come together at this moment”indicated the singer-songwriter.

Diosdado Gaitán Castro, winner of the Grand National Music Prize in the category “Best Folklore Producer”, represents pride in Peruvian roots, as well as the fusion between traditional and contemporary.

“We have rowed too much, it has not been easy. History can tell everything our people have experienced and these games will bring a lot of faith, hope and life to Ayacucho. Becoming ambassadors is a very big commitment and we will try to honor this role”expressed Gaitán Castro.

The scissors dance

Meanwhile, Rómulo Huamaní Janampa, known artistically as Qori Sisicha, is a reference in the scissors dance, one of the most emblematic cultural expressions of Peru. For him, these Games are not only a sporting event, but a platform that makes visible and celebrates the cultural richness of his native Ayacucho.

“The character of these Games is the scissors dancer and that makes me very happy. We dancers value the understanding between man and nature. “I hope that this sporting and cultural meeting will allow many young people to represent us for the good of sport.”noted the prominent artist.
