TRENČÍN – The management of the extra-league hockey club HK Dukla Trenčín has terminated cooperation with head coach Ernest Bokroš.

The team triumphed in only two out of eleven duels and is in the penultimate 11th place in the table. Coaching duties will be temporarily taken over by Pavol Mihálik, Peter Kosa and Ivan Feneš, who will lead the team in Sunday’s match of the 12th round in Nitra. The club’s official website informed about it.

“We entered the season with certain ambitions and expectations. We agreed on some result patience, but after nine losses out of eleven games we can no longer react. Ernest Bokroš remains a part of the club’s history. We appreciate his expressed willingness to continue to help the club. Our development concept Dukly is long-term, but now the task is for everyone in the club to roll up their sleeves even more and get out of the current position in the table.” said club president Richard Pavlikovský.

We imagined it differently

“I thank Ernesto for the correct cooperation. We all imagined the beginning of the season differently. We will carefully monitor how the team reacts to this impulse in the next matches and we do not rule out further changes. At the same time, we are working intensively on the arrival of a new head coach.” stated sports manager Mário Bližňák.

Sixty-five-year-old Bokroš replaced Milan Bartovič as coach before the season, who left for Žilina. However, the team from Trencin did not succeed as expected in the beginning of the Tipos extraliga season, they triumphed only against Nový Zámky (7:1) and over Žilina (4:3). They are on the 11th place in the table, with the same number of points (6) as the last Nové Zámky, but they have a better score.
