Dafne Quintero wins bronze medal

Tlaxcala, Oct 19 (AMEXI).- The Coahuila Dafne Quintero won the bronze medal in the Final of the Tlaxcala 2024 Archery Cup

The bronze medal was already for Mexico in the compound bow modality and it only had to be decided who would take it home, her or Andrea Becerra from Jalisco.

Dafne and Andrea engaged in a spectacular duel and in the second set, it seemed that the former was failing, when she closed with an arrow with a score of 8.

But the Coahuila native had two impressive finishes, in the third round and in the fifth and last, with a pure arrow of 10.

Even the penultimate one hit exactly the x, which marks the full center of the circle, which showed his sharp aim in the closing.

Dafne applied that “where I put my eye I put my arrow” and scored 11 out of 10, while her compatriot only scored 10.

In the end, one point was the difference between the two, being 146 for Dafne Quintero and 145 for Andrea Becerra.

At the end of the duel, both merged in a hug, like good friends, colleagues and compatriots and that one of them had to win this afternoon.

Second bronze

Dafne went up to the podium to receive her bronze medal, her second third-place medal in an Archery World Cup Final, the first being in Hermosillo 2023.

“I don’t believe it. I’m very happy for me. I have made history. I don’t remember the last arrow, I just let my body make the decision to do it,” shared the Colombian.
