Il “<a href="https://www.archysport.com/2024/10/martina-franca-and-taranto-three-days-of-judo-and-culture-with-the-italian-rookies-trophy/" title="Martina Franca and Taranto: three days of Judo and Culture with the Italian Rookies Trophy”>Italian Beginners Trophy B and A – Mister Judo XXX” started Friday 18 October at the PalaMazzola in Taranto with the athletes’ weigh-in operations continued Saturday 19 October 2024 with the men’s category competition for beginners B, Sunday 20 October sees the female debutants category B competition and the male and female debutants category A competition take place.
The event is included in the national circuit for beginners in the Puglia region, a competition valid for the acquisition of scores in the national ranking list, and has as its aim the achievement of the objectives set by the national competitive program of Fijilkam – Judo sector with particular reference to the initiatives relating to the program events of the Mediterranean Games 2026.
The great sporting event is organized by the Fijilkam – Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation, the ASD Gym and Uisp Sport for all and is sponsored by the sports department of the Puglia Region, by the Municipality of Taranto and by the Municipality of Martina Franca.
Together with the thousand jodokas from all over Italy, the presence of staff, companions and the public for a total of approximately 3,000 attendees. In addition to the strictly sporting aspect, the event intends to contribute to the promotion of the territory of the Municipality of Martina Franca and the Municipality of Taranto, of their food and wine excellences and landscape and cultural beauties. Inside the PalaMazzola, in fact, there is an area where it is possible to taste typical local products and receive gadgets and information material relating to the host territories. In collaboration with the Ecomuseo della Valle d’Itria and Cooperativa Serapia Associations, free guided tours are organized in the historic center and inside the Palazzo Ducale of Martina Franca and inside the “Bosco delle Pianelle” Oriented Nature Reserve (conditioned by bad weather , ed.).

For us, October is the promotion not only of Judo but of sport in general. In fact, “TRY SPORT” is underway in the structures of the Arci Martina sports center and the ASD gym which is giving excellent results due to the numerous participations of young athletes who appreciated the new proposals and equipment of the two sports clubs. But we also wanted to be protagonists of the communication campaign promoted by the Puglia Region against violence against women “Train against violence”, convinced as we are that extraordinary results can be achieved in this field through sport”.
