Blues Manager, Enzo Maresca don’t mind that.

ESPN reported that Tuchel will start his duties on January 1 2025. Ahead of that date, he has started to put together a team. A number of names who were and are still associated with Chelsea are being targeted.

Anthony Barry, Tuchel’s former assistant at Chelsea and Bayern Munich, has confirmed that the FA will join. Apart from that, Tuchel is said to be targeting two other names who are still active at Chelsea, namely head of performance analysis James Melbourne and goalkeeping coach Hilario.

Responding to the rumors, Maresca also emphasized that he understands if any of his staff chooses to leave Stamford Bridge. He doesn’t want to hold back someone’s career.

“I know one of them has been contacted, namely one of the analysts and we are open to letting anyone go if they really want to take this opportunity,” said Maresca in a press conference, Friday (18/10/2024).

“And the other one, I think Hilario, I heard something but so far there has been no approach, so this is what I know.”

“But as I said, we are open to that and we are also happy to keep people who really want to stay. And those who want to leave, they can leave,” explained the Italian manager.

Tuchel coached Chelsea for around 18 months from January 2021 to September 2022. He led the Blues to win the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.
