After a sixth stage concluded in a sprint by Matevz Govekar in the general, the Belgian Lotto Lennert Van Eetvelt won the last Word Tour event of the season in Guangxi.
The last World Tour event of the season, the Gree-Tour of Guangxi, has delivered its verdict. If the Slovenian from Bahrain Victorious Matevz Govekar won in a massive sprint, the general classification remained unchanged.
It was the Belgian Lennert Van Eetvelt who won the Tour of Guangxi this Sunday. The 23-year-old Lotto team rider had done the hardest part the day before by winning the queen stage under the nose of Primoz Roglic. This is his second victory of the season in a World Tour stage race after the UAE Tour in February.
In the final general classification, he is five seconds ahead of Briton Oscar Onley, followed by three Frenchmen, Alex Baudin, Victor Lafay and Pavel Sivakov.
