Sébastien Ogier/Vincent Landais (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid) crashed in the 17th PEC, the penultimate of the race when trying to reach Ott Tanak. The Frenchman’s Yaris ‘freaked out’, hit the left side and the car ricocheted to the other side of the road, coming to a stop.

The hopes of fighting for victory are over, but more than that, for Toyota this accident has many consequences in terms of points.

After the mistake in Greece, when there was still time to get good points for the team, this time, precisely the opposite.

In addition to the fact that all Hyundais gained a place in Saturday’s classification, Toyota loses these 18 points from Ogier, who can no longer collect them.

At the same time, the fight on Super Sunday is balanced with 1.2 seconds separating four pairs. Takamoto Katsuta is in front, but he has Tanak at 0.6s, Adrien Fourmaux at 1.1s and Elfyn Evans at 1.2s.

As for winning the race, under normal conditions it is decided, as Evans is unable to recover 9.4s in 14.87 km.
