Le Havre – OL (0-4): after its overwhelming victory, Lyon looks to the top of the ranking

This is how Ligue 1 goes, some laugh, others cry. Thanks to a third victory in a row, OL, quiet winners in Le Havre this Sunday afternoon, maintain contact with the leading pack in the Ligue 1 standings. Newly 7th, Lyon has passed Strasbourg, beaten 4th -2 by PSG at the Parc des Princes on Saturday evening. The Rhodanians got their hands on the entrance part and never took it back.

During the first half hour, possession was to the advantage of OL, to the tune of 78%. A first goal, signed Abner Vinicius, did not take long to come (31st), followed by a 2nd by Malick Fofana (57th), a 3rd by Lacazette (71st) and the last, work of Benrahma, entered for the last minutes (87th).

As for the Normans, the lights flash on their dashboard. They have a fifth defeat in a row. They have not advanced at all in the rankings since September 1st. Already 15th and first non-relegation before the match, they are increasingly concerned about relegation, while awaiting the matches of their competitors Toulouse, Angers and Montpellier this afternoon.

The serious things began with a low shot from Fofana, served behind by Cherki, opportunely deflected for a corner by Pembélé, the former Parisian titi (4th).

Shortly after, performing the scarf shot (hit behind the supporting leg), Cherki sends a small exploitable cross to the far post from the left. Lacazette cannot get his head back, and behind him, Caqueret, too short, is unable to get on target (21st).

While Le Havre almost couldn’t get their noses out of the window, Sage’s players found the opening just after the half-hour mark.

From the right, Maitland sends a cross that Pembélé, the Le Havre defender, pushes back with his head into the feet of Abner Vinicius whose left-footed shot ends up passing under the stomach of Delmas, the HAC goalkeeper, probably masked (0 -1, 31st).

Three minutes later, Fofana is offered a break point. Launched towards the goal in the fight with Pembélé, the young Belgian striker does not manage to score however (34th).

After the break, Le Havre seemed to come back with more determination, but OL wasted no time in dampening their desires.

Launched in depth, Fofana, alone, avoids Desmas and doubles the lead for Lyon (0-2, 57th).

Then a cross from Cherki, launched on the right, found Lacazette at the far post. The Lyon captain only had to push the ball into the back of the net to score his first goal of the season in L1 this season (0-3, 71st).

For good measure, Benrahma, left free to move, sped towards the Le Havre goal and increased the score with his right foot (0-4, 87th).

Twenty minutes from the end, OL had their attacking trio Cherki-Lacazette-Fofana suddenly return to the locker room, in order to spare them in anticipation of the Europa League trip to Besiktas on Thursday evening. Where the task will certainly be made less easy for them.
