Official: Lakers sign Quincy Olivari and cut Colin Castleton

I Los Angeles Lakers they made it official the signing of Quincy Olivari, at the same time the yellow and purple announced the cuts of Colin Castleton and Grayson Murphy. The guard signed a Two-Way Contractreplacing the center itself, which was renovated last July.

🏀 Quincy Olivari

With the Lakers, Olivari played four preseason games averaging 8.8 points, 57.1% from beyond the arc, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 13.4 minutes. In the defeat against the Warriors he scored 22 points and 2 rebounds with 5/9 from three. In the comeback success over the Bucks he scored 11 points in the 20-0 run that decided the match.

Previously, Quincy played 5 Summer League games in the Sacramento and Las Vegas tournaments, finishing with 25 overall points in 79 minutes. Then in August he signed a contract Exhibit 10 Contract.

Quincy Olivari he played for four years with Rice University in Houston, then in 2023-24 he transferred to Xavier University of Cincinnati. With i Musketeers he scored 19.1 points on 40.9% from three (7.6 attempts per game), 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 32.2 minutes on average.

✂️ Colin Castleton & Grayson Murphy

The cutting of Grayson Murphy he arrived twenty-four hours after signing the contract, an obligatory step in order to be able to sign a more profitable contract with i South Bay Lakers.

Finished undrafted after five seasons between Michigan and Florida, Colin Castleton he pays for the inability to contribute at the NBA level due to his size and height being inadequate for the role.

The excellent figures in the Summer League (13.7 points, 9 rebounds and 4.3 in 2023) and G League (16.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists) are very far from those of the garbage time NBA (1.5 points and 0.8 rebounds). This year too, the good Summer League (11.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists) was followed by a colorless Preseason (2.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13.7 minutes).

Castleton’s cut seems to be a prelude to the other’s return to the field two-way player Christian Koloko.
