The president of the Monagas State Sports Institute (Indem), Miguel Fuentes, visited the Cedeño municipality, where he shared with the Basque pelota teams, badminton and racquetball that are preparing to compete in the Oriente 2024 National Games.

Fuentes, on behalf of Governor Ernesto Luna, took the opportunity to deliver multivitamins to these three disciplines within the framework of the preparation plan, also adding that this Tuesday the athletes will undergo a medical check-up at the Cenacademo facilities.

“We also visited the Acosta municipality, where the athletes of the 3×3 basketball team are located, who will be competing in Anzoátegui, and to whom they were also given vitamin supplements,” Fuentes added.

The badminton and racquetball competitions will be played in Maturín, while Basque pelota will be played in the state of Sucre. Monagas, which will host 19 sports, will participate with a total of 320 athletes in more than 30 disciplines in the JDN, which will be held from November 8 to 24.

The president of Indem commented that he is also taking a tour of the different venues that will host the Games in Monagas, as is the case of the coleus sleeve of the “Chucho” Palacios de Maturín park.

“We verified the very important progress in the roof of the stands and the conditioning of the green areas, as well as other work that is being carried out to put this facility in tune for the coleus competitions,” he said.

Maturín’s coleus sleeve shows great progress to receive competitors at the 2024 Oriente Games.
