Final day has arrived at the Swedish tournament in Stockholm! In this match, two members of the top 15 will face each other for the title: the American Tommy Paul and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov. Tommy Paul, seeded number 4, won all of his 3 previous victories without losing a set against Laslo Djere, Miomir Kecmanovic and Stan Wawrinka. It is no real surprise that we find the American in this final since he is quite efficient on this surface as can be attested by his series of 7 consecutive victories achieved at the start of the year and his title won at the Dallas tournament against Marcos Girón.
For his part, Grigor Dimitrov is the number 3 seed and won his first 2 rounds in 2 sets against Quentin Halys and Dominic Stricker. He then had more difficulty during his semi-final by having to come back to score against world 37 Tallon Griekspoor in a match lasting almost 2h30. A quarter-finalist at the US Open recently, the Bulgarian had to retire during the match and is slowly recovering from his leg injury which kept him away from the courts for a few weeks afterwards. Since then, he had not progressed beyond the round of 16 in Shanghai, losing to Jakub Mensik, 51st in the world.
