Kane hat trick makes Bayern celebrate against Stuttgart

With a hat trick, Harry Kane scored record champions FC Bayern Munich to a 4-0 (0-0) victory against pursuers VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. However, Bayern struggled for almost an hour.

Harry Kane redeemed Munich on Saturday evening after four goalless competitive games with a precision shot from over 25 meters, flat to the bottom left of the Stuttgart goal. National goalkeeper Alexander Nübel stretched in vain for the shot, which didn’t look unstoppable (57′).

“We played well in the first half”said VfB keeper Nübel after the game to the sports show, “And then it gets really nasty, then Bayern overrun us and we concede four goals.” And the national goalkeeper said about the first goal: “It wasn’t unsustainable, but it was still disgusting and heavy.”

From the start, FC Bayern had the game and their opponents clearly under control – and somehow not. Munich’s chances seemed to start in the third minute when Paulo Guerreiro played Serge Gnabry on the edge of the penalty area, but his shot missed the right post of Stuttgart’s goal by centimeters.

As a result – only Deniz Undav missed a half-chance – the record champions let the ball roll in their usual manner. But many inaccuracies crept into the hosts’ actions. In particular, the coordination of the attack department didn’t work at all: Guerreiro tipped the ball to Nübel without pressure (8th), Kane passed half into space on a counterattack because Gnabry couldn’t run through due to offside, Kane headed over under pressure.

There was almost nothing to be seen from the guests offensively in the first part of the game – the Swabians’ respect for the great offensive power of the “Reds” was too great.

Munich with a changed style of play

Without the injured Jamal Musiala, but with Thomas Müller up front from the start, the Munich team came out of the locker room with a significantly greater desire to score. And immediately the plan to open up more and act more offensively seemed to backfire: When VfB had a double chance, right-back Josha Vagnoman shot way over.

But then Harry Kane’s hour came: After half a dozen unsuccessful attempts, the Englishman took a flat shot from over 25 meters in a central position – and was successful next to the left post. The interaction between Müller and Kane just a little later and the Englishman’s finish earned the title “world class”. And again just a few minutes later, Kane missed his great chance for a hat trick when he received the ball from Alphonso Davies in the penalty area, but chased the ball up towards the stands.

But then the Englishman managed to get a hat trick: towards the end of the game, the tired Stuttgart team didn’t have much to counter Bayern’s attacks: after a shot from the second row by Joao Palhinha, who had substituted for Pavlovic, the goalscorer shot after the Nübel defense fastest and put the ball in the goal for the third time that evening. Müller was once again the provider for Coman’s final point.

Stuttgart was a tough opponent for a long time – in the end, Bayern’s huge will to win and great individual class prevailed.

“We played okay for 60 minutes. Then the game completely gets out of our hands. It’s not a good feeling to concede four goals in 30 minutes – we have to analyze that,” said Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß.

First Champions League, then Stuttgart against Kiel, Bayern in Bochum

Difficult tasks await the two teams in the Champions League during the week. VfB will face Juventus Turin away on Tuesday (October 22, 2024, 9 p.m.), while Bayern will be guests at former coach Hansi Flick and FC Barcelona the next day.
