Mexican achieves 4th. World Archery venue

Mexico.- It seemed that Mexico could occupy a place on the podium again, but as the duel progressed Matías Grande began to miss his arrows and the Brazilian Marcus D’Almeida was right to achieve a 6-2 on the board, this gave him the third place in the Archery World Cup Final.

“I knew I had the job to get ahead in the games, I am happy with fourth place, I would have loved to raise the flag for Mexico, but we are going to have more opportunities,” said Matías.

In the first two sets of the recurve modality, the Mexican and the Brazilian tied, for the third Marcus took advantage and although in the fourth set he shot pure 9, Matías presented an 8 that gave him the defeat.

Despite this result, Grande says he is satisfied with what he showed against D’Almeida, as well as against the Italian Mauro Nespoli and the Korean Kim Woojin.

“He always plays a little bit of everything, experience and emotion, I had never had to compete against Kim, I was already looking forward to it because he is talked about for his perseverance and Marcus has been number one in the world, so I am happy with how he I faced it,” said the 20-year-old athlete.

With this World Archery competition Matías ends his season for the year, so he is already focusing on planning for 2025.

“I’m looking forward to starting the next cycle,” said the silver medalist in the Pan American Games.
