Transfer Talks: Petersson Allegedly in Negotiations with Värnamo – What It Means for Both Sides

IFK Värnamo and the club’s former sporting director Enes Ahmetovic went their separate ways this summer.

During Monday states Ölandsbladet that Värnamo is in negotiations with Kalmar FF‘s sporting director Jörgen Petersson about a joint future.

The main character, in turn, denies that there are ongoing negotiations with Småland’s rival.

“In that case, it is easy to answer. I am not in any negotiations with either IFK Värnamo or any other association,” he writes to Fotbollskanalen.

Kalmar FF’s club manager David Måsegård:

– It’s not something I’m aware of, he says to the Football Channel.

Is there trust in Petersson?

– Absolutely, there is full confidence on our part, he says and asks to come back later on Monday.

IFK Värnamos club manager Lisa Lidén also denies that there are ongoing talks between the parties.

– No, it actually doesn’t, she says.

So you have no contact with him?

– No, we actually don’t have that. I’m clueless, but I find this kind of thing exciting. You get curious, says Lidén and laughs.

Are there any specific names you are considering as new sports director?

– Not at the moment, no. We have just recruited a coach, Robin (Asterhed). Then we have a process that is ongoing regarding a new sports director. We are looking broadly, but there are no names at the moment, says the club manager.

Petersson took over as sporting director at KFF on 1 January 2020.

KFF is second jumbo, while Värnamo is in twelfth place in the Allsvenskan. Three rounds remain in the season in the series.
