THE SPORT SCAN – Ticket prices to attend the first matches of the season are a roller coaster ride depending on which franchise you follow.

The NBA season will open this Tuesday in Boston with the clash between the Celtics and the New York Knicks. The match will not be sold out and there are still tickets on the market but fans of the Massachusetts franchise will have to break the bank to access the show in the legendary TD Garden. The first prices to be placed at the top of the room start at 315 dollars and even climb up to 5,285 dollars to feast at the edge of the field.

Other teams, however, have had much less success than the reigning champions. This is the case of the New Orleans Pelicans, a franchise which is not expected to play the leading roles. Zion Williamson and his teammates will open their season on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls in a Smoothie King Center (18,500 seats) which is not expected to be full despite the very affordable price policy.

On online sales sites, there are still places in each section of the stands with extremely low prices offered at 4 dollars! For this amount, don’t expect to be placed a few meters from the floor but rather at the top of the stands. But tickets for the lower section bleachers can be found for just $62 while at the same location in Boston, nothing is offered for less than $800.

A few days ago, Gametime, a site specializing in the sale of last-minute tickets for sporting events in the United States, calculated the average price of tickets for the start of the season. The Knicks were at the top of the rankings with a cost of $313 at the prestigious Madison Square Garden while at the bottom of the scale, we found the Pelicans with a low price of $42.
