As for around fifteen years, the Badminton Associatif Cholet (BACH) organized its regional tournament this weekend at the Grégoire hall, the Octobach. Around sixty volunteers took turns during these two days to welcome dozens of players from all over France. It was necessary to supervise more than 400 matches, mixed, singles and doubles for women and men, in the best possible conditions while ensuring security, the smooth running of the matches and the catering of the competitors.
“An assumed pressure”
At the club for a good dozen years, a simple competitor, Romain, a member of the CA today, was involved in several commissions before joining the logistics commission which takes care of the refreshment bar and tidying up the room. “What motivates me as a volunteer is the autonomy that I am given, it is also the challenge of my responsibilities. It’s a pressure taken on as a small challenge, I don’t feel any brakes, we are given the means to do things. It’s not really work, it’s more of a human experience. »
“Nothing is possible without volunteers”
“With well-defined slots behind the bar, we came to help by participating in the life of the club. We are aware that nothing is possible without volunteers,” exclaim Manon and Léo, young players of the club and always ready to give their time.
For the first year, the partner MLC (mutuelle la Choletaise) asked the club to sell sweatshirts for the Pink October action.
