There will be four days of exciting competitions, between high-sounding numbers and top-level competitive performances, guaranteed by the presence of the best Italian archers. There are 212 clubs present and 840 archers from all over the peninsula who will take part in the 62nd Italian Targa Championship which will be held between 5 and 8 sSeptember in Camaiore.
The outdoor championship, organized by the company Camaiorese ASD Kentron Dard with the patronage of the Municipality of Camaiore, will award the Italian class and absolute, individual and team titles of three divisions: Recurve Olympic Bow), Compound and, for the second time, the tricolors will also be assignedi Bow Knot.
Going into detail, 381 athletes are expected for the Olympic division, 245 in the compound and 214 for the bare bow. Also counting the technicians and companions present, there will be over 2000 attendance related to archery in Camaiore and the surrounding area.
The competition will be held at the Municipal Stadium of Camaiore: the 72 qualifying arrows which assign the titles of the Boys, Students, Juniores, Seniores and Masters classes of the three divisions and which make up the scoreboard of the direct clashes, together with all the preliminary phases for the absolutes will take place from Thursday 5th to Sunday September 8.
This championship represents the most important federal event of the season, considering that in addition to the best archers of the youth, senior and master classes, there will also be archers from the Olympic and compound national teams returning to the Paris Olympics and most of the protagonists of the Paralympic national team, also recently returned from the Paralympics, with the medals they just won around their necks. Also competing are the archers from the National Youth team who last year gave the seniors a hard time, as well as the Naked Bow specialists used to wearing the blue jersey in the indoor, field shooting and 3D disciplines.
The competition program foresees the official start of the event for Thursday 5th: at the Municipal Stadium, after the accreditation phases and the opening ceremony, the start at 2.00 pm for the qualification of the youth classes of Boys and Students of the three competing divisions: Arco Nude, Curved and Compound. Subsequently, the semi-finals and finals of the mixed student teams will be played. VOn Friday the 6th at 8.30 am the qualifying of the Arco Nudo division will begin and at 2.30 pm the qualification of the Compound division. At the end of the 72 arrows, the Juniores, Seniores and Master class titles will be assigned and the scoreboards of the direct clashes will be composed. SSaturday 7th at 8.30 am the Recurve qualification, again for Juniores, Seniors and Masters. The team preliminaries for the absolutes of the three divisions (quarter-finals and semi-finals) will begin at 2.30 pm; at 2.30 pm the same goes for the mixed team challenges and, finally, from 5.30 pm the start of the individual preliminaries (round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals). The event closes on Sunday 8th with the matches for the overall podiums again at the Municipal Stadium; aAt 8.30 am the team, mixed team and individual finals of Arco Nudo; at 11.30 am the same process for the Compound division and, from 3.30 pm, the team, mixed team and individual finals of Recurve which will end around 6.30 pm.
