The ATP 500 tournament began in Vienna without defending champion Jannik Sinner. On Monday, Alexander Zverev and 2 Italians moved into the next round.

Alexander Zverev confidently mastered the opening hurdle at the ATP tournament in Vienna. The number one seed from Hamburg easily won against the Austrian Joel Schwärzler 6:2, 6:2. In the round of 16, Zverev will face the winner of the game between the two Americans Alex Michelsen and Marcos Giron.

Zverev, who recently had to struggle with the after-effects of pneumonia, was clearly superior to the 347th in the world rankings. The German only fell a little behind on match point. After 67 minutes, Zverev only converted the fourth match point.
